In collaboration with her network of academic and consultant experts, Dr. Ross offers a series of seminars relevant to Evidence-based Medicine, under the banner of HTAConnect. These seminars will be held either in-house for individual groups, or off-site for all-comers, in major cities across the U.S. In 2010, the off-site locations for the seminar series will be expanded to include outdoor adventure destinations. Topics for the series include health technology assessment for both drugs and devices, statistics for non-statisticians, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, data mining, database studies, and pharmacoeconomic assessments. Attendees will be drawn primarily from the healthcare field (providers, payers, formulary managers, policy-makers, and the pharma and device industries). In addition, occasional seminars will be developed to specifically address the learning needs of those in other fields that touch upon healthcare, such as journalism or law. A portion of the proceeds from each of the off-site seminars will be donated to a local charity in the seminar city.
